The Foreman — 0-6-0 Yard Switcher

The Foreman

0-6-0 Yard Switcher

$225

Made to order · 23 weeks

Every yard needs a switcher. The Foreman is the short, heavy engine that shoves cars around the siding — no tender to trail behind it, no long nose to catch on a doorway.

We build it from American cherry, which starts a pale rose and darkens over a few years to a deep russet. It is the one piece in the collection that visibly ages, which is the whole reason we chose it.

The shorter wheelbase is a deliberate choice. It turns inside a tighter radius than the Ironclad and it is the right first locomotive for a child who is still learning not to drag a train sideways across the rug.

Adding a piece starts a quote — it does not charge you. We reply within two business days with a firm price and a build date.
